A Ridiculous New Faux “Foodie” Museum Takes Over an Actual LA Museum

A Ridiculous New Faux “Foodie” Museum Takes Over an Actual LA Museum

Art from The Foodie Space

Plus more restaurant charity, and Sotto’s new happy hour

Not another one

A new so-called “interactive pop-up museum” centered around food is coming to greater Los Angeles next week. This one is called (insert groan here) The Foodie Space, and it opens at the Pasadena Museum of California Art on Union Street. The exhibition is mostly just wonky food-themed pop art and oversized things like Sriracha bottles to interact with, though the creators are the folks behind the popular 626 Night Market, and they say they’re looking to “poke fun” at all the social media museums around the country. Tickets are still $20 a pop though, with first available dates starting November 21.

The roast

APL in Hollywood is hosting a pig roast with the fine folks from Sonoratown. The event goes down on Monday, and includes a ton of food (yes, there will be handmade tortillas) for $36.

The right move

Lemonade is donating 100% of its proceeds today (at the Westlake Village location) to the victims of the recent Borderline bar shooting. They’re also letting first responders eat free now through Thanksgiving at all locations, as a way to give back for those battling the Woolsey Fire.

Coffee for a cause

Stumptown is giving back to those involved with the wildfires in California by donating 100% of the proceeds from their cafe in the Arts District today to the United Way and a ranch worker GoFundMe page.

Brunch with the Wolf

Wolfgang Puck’s WP24 restaurant in Downtown has a fun new take on brunch. It’s called Kitchen Brunch, and it runs Sundays between November 25 and December 23. The gist is: Diners came show up and get hands-on tips for making a variety of brunch foods, from dim sum to eggs benedict, and then eat the food as well with culinary stations situated around the dining room.

The whole team

Humphry Slocombe is teaming up with Homeboy Industries for a two-day event this weekend. Just show up to the Venice ice cream shop for a Homeboy pie pop-up, with proceeds going to further the non-profit’s anti-gang mission.

Sotto for the win

Check out the awesome happy hour deals on Sotto’s new reduced-price menu, which runs Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
