An Elegant New Cocktail Lounge Debuts in Redondo Beach

Georgia’s Lounge

Georgia’s Lounge starts pouring in the South Bay at 5 p.m. tonight

Georgia’s Lounge opened as Redondo Beach’s new cocktail lounge last night. The space is an elegant transformation from the previous sports bar tenant, Gasser. The crew behind Georgia’s are restaurant veterans from the South Bay, and they’ve pulled out all the stops for this neighborhood joint.

Gone are the dark red walls with leopard accents and the black lacquered bar. They’ve replaced to motif with neutral colors, cushioned banquettes, soft lighting, and mahogany wooden accents to the bar.

Like most new joints throughout LA, local craft beer rules the day, and Georgia’s has five on tap for a reasonably-priced $8 each. The curated wines are forward choices with options for a six or nine ounce pour. They’ve created a solid cocktail menu, including a twist on the French 75: the pear 75 takes vodka, and mixes in prosecco, pear juice, and agave with a lemon twist.

Longtime restaurateurs Tim Foley and John Kaufman partnered with Jocelyn Kaylene and Jonathan Dahl to create Georgia’s. Foley and Kaufman are the brains behind Truxton’s American Bistro, where Kaylene was beverage director. Dahl is a longtime bartender, most recently at The Whaler and Darren’s Bar in Manhattan Beach.

Georgia’s hours run Monday to Wednesday from 5 p.m. to midnight, and Thursday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to midnight.
