LA music lovers were taken on an incredible journey at Zebulon, when Takaakira ‘Taka’ Goto, guitarist and composer of Japanese experimental rock band MONO, performed the entirety of his debut solo album Harmonic, as Behind the Shadow Drops.
Goto began his solo project BTSD in 2016, fusing various genres of music, from ambient and trip-hop, to industrial minimalism, and classical. This mix creates an ethereal sound, and when combined with otherworldly projections, makes for quite the spiritual experience. The night began with a viewing of MONO’s new short film, After You Comes the Flood. When Goto took the stage, silence filled the room. We devoted our full attention to this musical genius–watching in awe–only breaking the tranquility for applause between songs. ありがとうございました
