Central Ohio home prices are wrapping up a year of gains

Even as home sales cool down for the winter, 2018 will go down as a year when it got much more expensive to break into the Central Ohio housing market.

The median sales price of homes sold in the first 11 months of the year rose to $195,000, up 7.7 percent from the same period in 2017. This year’s average sales price is up 6.1 percent to $228,062. That includes November, when the average sales price rose 2.8 percent to $219,986 and the median price rose 5.5 percent to $189,900 from a year ago.
