HomeGoods cancels plans to open 3 Hawaii stores

TJX Cos. has canceled plans to open three HomeGoods stores in Hawaii and has plans to bring its Marshalls brand back to the Islands in at least one location after a 23-year absence.

The discount home furnishings and housewares retailer, which is owned by TJX Cos. Inc. (NYSE: TJX), was to have opened its first store in the Islands in West Oahu, in a 25,000-square-foot space in a new building at Kapolei Commons.
