Majority of Charlotte homeowners face larger city tax bill

Charlotte’s city manager recommended a revenue-neutral tax rate on Monday, but the county’s recent property revaluation will still lead to higher city taxes for 65% to 70% of homeowners next year. Last week, Mecklenburg County introduced a budget including a tax increase based on a proposed rate 2 cents above revenue neutral.
