Study: Slight increase in prices would put new homes out of reach for more than 3,600 Houston households

An estimated 11,152 Texas households are in danger of being priced out of the housing markets in their respective cities, highlighting how rising property values across the state are affecting residents.

That is the number of households that would be unable to afford a new home if the median price rises by just $1,000, according to new data from the National Association of Home Builders. Prices for new homes have skyrocketed in Texas since 2016.
